Why the two giants fought

Image
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku, the two giants in Milan have been harboring grudges for each other since their days in Old Trafford. Finding themselves in the opposite sides of Milan couldn't help but ensure that the incubating animosity comes out to public glare. It was in an interview that Zlatan Ibrahimovic stated that he offered a bet to Lukaku that if he makes a good first touch in training, he would give him £50 but he never took the bet because he was afraid.  Lukaku never made negative remarks against the 39 year old but hurt his ego when in 2020, Inter Milan won in the derby with the Belgian following it up on social media that "there's a new king in town." This didn't go down well with the Swede who returned in another derby in October 2020 to score twice in a match in which Inter found the back of the net just once, thereby losing to the other side of Milan.  This win reinvigorated the ex Paris Saint Germain striker's ego and he replied his ri...

Chelsea Sacks Lampard

Image
Chelsea has sacked Frank Lampard from his post as Manager after a poor run of form. Having a reputation of sacking their managers if results become unfavourable, they ensured that Lampard go the way of many before him. His challenges began when his relationship with the influencial Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia began to deteriorate because of some disagreements over signing of players.  The ex coach wanted to sign Declan Rice and Burnley's James Tarkowski which the Chelsea board doesn't see as necessary following the fact that the former who was a Chelsea academy player was shipped off earlier. It was seen by them as an embarrassment to bring him back. Also, the transfer Chief didn't like the way Lampard treated record signing goal keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. She felt he would have been given more time and helped to rebuild his confidence after many high profile mistakes. But Lampard insisted on getting a new keeper and had his way by signing Eduardo Mendy. But then, th...

Players cannot stop breaking covid-19 guidelines

Image
Troy Deeney has insisted that footballers cannot never stop breaking the covid-19 guild lines because it's in their nature to hug each other when they score goals to celebrate it. He went further to advise Boris Johnson to shut football down. The premier league has recorded over 40 covid-19 cases, a record number since the restart of the league. The Professional football association has asked players not to hug or hold hands as a form of celebration as a means of curtailing the virus but the Watford captain believes that it's near impossible to implement that since it's been a way of life for players. He suggested that authorities ban football from January to June or July like was done previously, otherwise people will continue to forget the rules and hug and celebrate. Football is one of the elite sports that were allowed to continue during the covid-19 national lockdown in the United Kingdom.
