Lewandoski's bet with Klopp

Robert Lewandoski made a bet with Jürgen Klopp when he arrived at Borussia Dortmund in 2010, a deal the German Coach had to renegade from later.

The German tactical genius signed the Polish striker after being impressed with his performance in the Polish club Lech Posnan where he scored 21 goals in 34 appearances.

The young Lewandoski's £4million signing proved to be a bargain with the Striker scoring 103 goals in 187 appearances at Signal Idune Park, helping the club to a Champions League final alongside two Bundeslega titles and one DFB Pokal. Though he had a poor run of form in his debut season with nine goals in 43 games.

Having witnessed the poor form, Klopp deviced a genius means. He made a bet with the Polish captain that if he scores ten goals at training, he will pay him €50 but if he fails to score, he would be the one to pay.

He paid for the first few weeks but after a few months, the table turned and it was the turn of the Klopp to pay. Later he ended it because the Polish giant has rediscovered his killer instinct.
