On a beautiful day in the year 2000, Diego Maradona met with Pope John Paul 11, it was a visit that elicited excitement and well publicized. But things took a new dimension when the Pope distributed the holy rosary. Maradona was always seen during matches doing the sign of the cross when running into the pitch. As the year draws continuously closer to it's end, FIFA has shortlisted a powerful list of people in the football community who distinguished themselves for individual awards.  Both the men and the women side of the divide where represented while coaches and goal keepers were not left out. On the women side, Manchester City's Lucy Bronze made the eleven man shortlist alongside Pernille Harder, Ji So-yun, Sam Kerr (all Chelsea) and Vivianne Miedema (Arsenal).
