The 2020/2021 season started as a result of the resilience of the human spirit in times of uncertainty. That could be why it became a breakthrough season for many players. 

The coronavirus pandemic came like a thief and distabilized alot of things, but football came back stronger and prepared, with many players especially young ones kicking out of the cocoon to stardom.

Many of the names will not come as a surprise to you, some are a product of shrewd business techniques by clubs who buy cheap and nurture to stardom, while many are pure breakout talents who were determined to get to the top no matter what it takes.


10. Name: Jude Bellingham

      Country: England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

      Club: Borussia Dortmund

The 17 year old had his breakout

session at Birmingham City and was snapped up by Borussia 3. Dortmund for £25million, a record fee for a 17 year old. He went on to become the youngest player to appear in the Champions League, scored his first Dortmund goal in September and has already made his England debut becoming the third youngest footballer to do so in England.

His transfer fee increased 1000% this season with extra £22.05million.

His value increased 22.5milliom to 45million this 2020.

He joined the Spanish outfit from Marseille on a fee in the region of £19million in 2019, but his stock has since increased to £45million in the transfer market unarguably because of a 17 goal debut season in Spain. 

The 26 year old was among the Stars that lifted the Europa League trophy.


7.Name: Diego Carlos

The 27 year old Brazilian proved a bargain. He became an instant hit for his club and was recently called to the Brazil National team.

He was bought at a moderation fee of £22.5million but his value currently is standing at an enviable £45million.

Saka's value has risen from £11.7million to £36million over 2020 - a huge increase of 207.7 per cent - thanks in part to his remarkable tally of 11 assists last season.

He has since been given a new contract.

The teen has been a revelation of some sort at Old Trafford, he increased in value to over £45million. That means an incredible increase of extra £25million.

The young English power house has been impressive since breaking out into the scene. He has already bagged three goals this season for Manchester City with a brace for country after serving a sanction for sneaking women into his hotel alongside Greenwood.

He has increased in value from £25million to £54million this season.

   Club: Borussia Dortmund

The high flying Norwegian has been smashing the back of the net since joining the fray.

 He was snapped up by Borussia Dortmund in a fee in the region of £17.1 million but his stock increased to £40.5million in January and now it stands at £72million. He already has eleven goals in eleven games for BVB.

The Messi understudy had his break out season last year and has contacted to do great things this season. He became the youngest player to score a brace in La Liga in February and made his national team debut for Spain but has been constrained by injury which has kept him away for some time, but it didn't prevent his stock from going up from £36million to £72million.

The mercurial player was on hand mesmerizing every player in the pitch against Barcelona's on their way to lifting the UEFA Champions League and became a fear factor in the German club alongside teammate Robert Lewandoski.

At 20, he has become the best left back in Europe and has signed a new five year contract with the Bayern Munich. 

Despite injuries,his stock increased this year from £22.5million to £72million in the transfer market.
