Mourinho in touchline spat with Lampard

Image
The intensity of the Carabao cup match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur took a new entertaining dimension when Jose Mourinho and Frank Lampard came for each other at the touchline. Mourinho's voice was captured telling Lampard that when he was loosing, he wasn't standing up at the touchline while Lampard responded by telling him that he (Mourinho) talks to the referees more than he talks to his players. Timo Werner Scored the opener which was cancelled out by Tottenham to push the match all the way to penalties. The West London Club was tipped to take the three points but was thrown out of the competition when Mason Mount missed his spot kick to hand over the win to their North London rivals.

Battle of the English Titans

Image
Two of the most potent strike force in the Premier League this season meets Monday to begin what hopefully will be the most fierce rivalry of the season. Arsenal began the new season firing on all cylinders and so did Liverpool and both teams made some important purchases in the likes of Thiago Alcantara for Liverpool and Willian for Arsenal. Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, having signed a new mouthwatering contract at the Emirate definitely renewed his commitment and desire to do more and with the presence of an experienced and articulate maestro like Willian, goals will not be a problem for Arsenal this season. This is not to forget the elegant Alexander Larcazete who has established himself as a worthy partner to the mercurial Gabonese. Mohammed Salah narrowly lost out of the golden boot last season and didn't like it. So this season, he jumped into the fray from the first kick of the game, powering on a hart-trick against Leeds in the first match of the season while Mane followed it...

Five Chelsea outcasts that may leave this season.

Image
Chelsea spent over £220million in transfers this transfer window, strengthening all the leaking departments and adding even to places that are okay. This present situation has led to some players going down the pecking order at the bridge. Take a look at them. 1. Marcos Alonso The Spaniard has contributed immensely to the solidity of Chelsea's left back which led to some league success especially during the time of Antonio Conte.  As it stands now, he has gone down the pecking order following the arrival of the £50million Ben Chilwell who equally plays in that position.  Inter Milan has been keen on bringing him to Italy but it looks like he intends to fight for his place at Stamford Bridge. 2. Callum Hudson-Odoi The young wide man who has struggled to pin down a place in Chelsea's starting line up has been reasonably impressive in majority of the matches he has played especially under Frank Lampard, but the number of players that has been recruited in that position he plays m...

Drop messi and Aguero

Image
The Argentina national team is made up of top notch professionals and really great talents. But they have under-performed in recent decades. Their array of stars always fall below expections and always fall short in moments when big names stand to be counted for their country. Following the coming of the new Coach, Lionel Scaloni, he decided to gradually drop the old guard for fresh legs. This decision led to the dropping of Angel Di Maria from the national team since July despite reaching the Champions League final with PSG and contributing immensely in the run up to that finals, a move he didn't like.  This led to an outburst from the prolific winger who doesn't understand why he should be sidelined while Lionel Messi, Aguero, Otamendi and other players in their 30's are still there. He requested that all of them be withdrawn from the national team if that's the intention, otherwise why would a player in great form like him for more than 18 months now be ignored.  He ...

Barcelona set to block Suaréz Atletico move

Image
Luis Suaréz, was due for a move to Atletico Madrid after his deal with Juventus fell through but Barcelona looks set to prevent the move from happening by adding the Madrid side on the list of vetoed Clubs. Other Clubs which Barcelona is trying to add in the vetoed list includes Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Real Madrid.  The Nou Camp side are afriad that he would score against them if he joins a rival Club. It is believed that Atletico Madrid are preparing for Edison Cavani incase the move falls through towards the end. Diego Simeone has been a long time admirer of the Paris Saint-Germain striker but never got him.

Suaréz in trouble again

Image
Luis Suaréz has been accused of lieing that he could speak the Italian language in a bid to pass a citizenship test that will aid in securing a transfer to Juventus. The Uruguayan flew to Perugia for a citizenship test that will aid his move. Though the deal fell through because of his desire to remain in Spain. Juventus had since moved for Alvaro Morata while Atletico settled for Suaréz. The investigator believe that he passed the test having been given the answers in advance when in reality he doesn't speak a word of the language. He does not conjugate verbs, he only speaks using the infinitive.  If the allegations are proven, he faces a huge legal battle for trying to cheat.

Pirlo hints at resting Ronaldo

Image
Andrea Pirlo kicked off his coaching career on a winning note. Juventus won Sampdoria 3:0 in Pirlo's first competitive match as a Coach. Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal and showed no sign of slowing down. But the Italian has other plans for the Portuguese legend. He insists that the ex Manchester United Star will be given some rest this season especially in less important matches. This is to ensure that the five time balon dor winner keeps performing at optimum level till the end of the season. He noted that the 36 year old is not getting any younger and so have to be taken care of. The ex Madrid man is not one to slow down, but the Italian legend explained that Ronaldo will be the one to decide when he feels he needs rest .In his words: "He's a very intelligent lad who knows his body very well, so he is aware of when it's time to rest or step it up. When he will play depends on him." It will be interesting to see how the Portuguese machine reacts to the idea and ...

Tottenham demolish Saints

Image
The long awaited Tottenham transformation is here with us. The terrific trio of Bale, Kane and Son have not yet United but the Spurs front line is already becoming a terror. Heung-min Son has begun to show himself as a force to recon with in a star studded Frontline. He was gifted four assists by his partner in crime Harry Kane in a match that saw Tottenham humiliate Southampton 5:2 in their backyard. The Jose Mourinho led team bounced back from their opening match defeat against Everton to stamp their authority in the new season. Without much words, it's obvious that the 2018 Champions League runners up have no intentions of merely participating in the league this season, they have intentions of winning trophies.  Gareth Bale after signing the dotted line, insisted that he has come to help the club win trophies, to help motivate the dressing room and try to win. After a disallowed goal for both sides in the opening minutes, Danny Ings gave the Saints a well deserved lead by connec...

He joined the wrong team

Image
After a hugely successful spell together at Bayern Munich, Carlo Ancelotti and Thiago Alcantara went their separate ways. The duo of Ancelotti and Thiago have found themselves in the English Premier League but this time in rival clubs and Ancelotti feels heartbroken.  He jokingly said the ex Bayern Munich man is in the wrong team. "The only good thing about this signing is that he is a neighbour and that's it. I think he chose the wrong team." He said jokingly. Liverpool, like Tottenham Hotspur saved the best for last with a double signing of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota at about £65million.  2020/2021 English Premier League season looks like a season that will be memorable, following the calibre of players trooping into the League.

Klopp and Lampard's rivalry

Image
Liverpool and Chelsea are serious rivals. The two clubs do not see eye to eye and that reflected in the heated moments between their two managers last season in which Frank Lampard warned Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool not to get too arrogant.  Klopp dismissed the statement with a wave of the hand and everyone moved on. But following some agressive transfer activities by Chelsea this transfer window, the Liverpool Manager ignited the rivalry again when he stated that some clubs are owned by oil rich oligarchs and Governments. Lampard, when asked about what the Anfield manager said, insisted that they are just following the footprint of the Anfield outfit who made similar purchases last season and the season before it.  To put an end to the feud, Klopp dismissed any rivalry between the two of them, saying that he admired Lampard as a player and now as a coach he is doing great, and so, there can't be rivalries.

Tottenham Hotspur's new look is devastating

Image
Tottenham Hotspur's new face Chelsea and Manchester City may have made some important signings this  transfer window, but Tottenham Hotspur is systematically pulling some important strings in the transfer market. The new season promises to be an interesting one, with the way transfers were being conducted by football clubs and Tottenham are not left out.  After successfully highjacking the transfer of Sergio Reguilion to Manchester United and bringing him to Tottenham, another high profile move has been pull by Danny Levy and Jose Mourinho.  The transfer of Gareth Bale on a season long loan to the North London side is the icing on the cake. Now, the Jose Mourinho's side boost of a terrific front three in Gareth Bale, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane. There may be no better front three in Europe if they synergize and that could be the end of title drought in Tottenham Hotspur if everything goes as it should. Sergio Reguilion is a fantastic left back who has the ability to burst...

Messi was never close to signing for Arsenal

Image
Arsene Wenger was of the opinion that Arsenal was close to signing Lionel Messi from Barcelona in 2003. But it has since been refuted by a man who saw it all. Arsenal talent-spotter, Francis Cagigao said that three talents were spotted, Cesc Fabrigas, Lionel Messi and Gerrard Pique. Fabrigas signing was successful but Pique's agents had issues with Arsenal and that brought an end to the deal. As for Lionel Messi, the club had discussions with his representatives but he had issues with a work permit and that ended the deal. The trio ended up very successful in their respective careers, winning trophies in different leagues and two among them, namely Fabrigas and Messi ended up being Captains of their clubs.

Bale, Reguilion on their way to London

Image
Tottenham Hotspur has decided to push for the return of Gareth Bale who had a brilliant spell in White Hart Lane. The talented winger is said to be highly underrated at Real Madrid having scored 105 goals in a glittering career that brought in 13 trophies. The Welshman's ability was most vivid in cup finals, most remarkable of them being his bicycle kick in the Champions League final against Liverpool. Tottenham Hotspur Chief, Danny Levy is in the forefront of ensuring that this transfer happens either as a loan deal or permanent move, and it is believed that Real Madrid will be responsible for 50 percent of the Wales international's wages of up to £500,000 a week in order to facilitate the deal. Tottenham is also  in the race for Segio Reguilion who is rated at £25million from Real Madrid. He has been made to understand that Jose Mourinho is in dire need of his services and that has put Spurs in pole position to sign the defender ahead of other competitors. Manchester United a...
