Bayern vrs Lyon

The 2019/2020 Champions League has produced surprises so far with the elimination of favorite teams by less fancied opponents that emerged from the nowhere to Limelight.

Prior to the start of the season, up to the forced break caused by the coronavirus pandemic, no one felt that Bayern Munich would pose a threat in the competition. Not because they were not doing well in the league, but because of the perception of football lovers when it comes to the French and German football leagues popularly known as "Farmers League."

As the competition progressed, the big teams began to fall, not among themselves but in the hands of these less fancied teams and continued until the rejected stones were the only ones standing. They are turning into the chief corner stones now.

Looking at the match that will take place between Bayern Munich and Olympique Lyon, it would be easier to give it to the former because of their excellent run up to the semi final unlike the French side that had to crack the wall up to this stage. 

Bayern to an extent has been lucky. They climbed up to the moment at the back of teams in transition and in twilight. The Tottenham they met, the Chelsea they met, the Barcelona they met were all teams that were a shadow of themselves because of one reason or the other. So, one will be wise not to approve their invincibility yet.

On the other hand, it's not been an easy ride for Lyon who had to overcome a hungry Juventus that has with them the special Cristiano Ronaldo who's in a race against time. 

If those parameters is placed side by side, it will not be a bad guess to say that the Rudi Garcia side will carry the day. But this is football, anything can happen. 

For Bayern Munich, this is the day they will play a champions league match. With the fire in both teams, the experience and technical abilities of the two coaches, I have no doubt that it will be a match worthy of its name.
