Liverpool and Leeds United kicks starts the new season in style

One of the first premier league matches of the 2020/2021 season happened at Anfield on Saturday. It was a match that lived up to expectations.

Marcelo Bielsa and his Leeds United boys just got promoted to the premier league. They were the Champion in England second division. Liverpool on their part are the premier league Champions and both teams have quite a flamboyant reputation.

Klopp and Bielsa are masters of the game and have proven it time without number while their squads are made up of a good number of boys. Their first encounter of the season says it all.

A seven goal thriller in an empty Anfield stadium saw Mohammed Salah placing a fantastic penalty at the back of the net to give Liverpool the lead but Jack Harrison ensured that the lead did not last long by shooting past Allison to take Leeds level on points.

Virgil van Dijk thundered home Liverpool's second through a well placed header but was responsible for Leeds equalizer through Patrick Bamford minutes later. The Liverpool giant full back miscalculated and left the keeper vulnerable.

On the 33 minute, Mohammed Salah again sloted in Liverpool's third goal to peg the match at 3:2 but the hard fighting men from Leeds had other plans.

Mateusz Klich pushed forward and struck at the hour mark to take Leeds United back into the game with a goal that everyone thought have shared the spoil between both parties.

Three minutes to end the game, Fabinho was fouled in the eighteen yard box and that gave Salah a chance to score Liverpool's fourth goal and a first hat-trick of the season.

Is it a taste of what the new season will look like?
