Complete Transfer Market Roundup.

Manchester United Looks For Number 7.

The Manchester United No.7 shirt is now vacant, and United have long been linked with making Jadon Sancho the man to fill it.

That saga looks as though it could run on and on into the summer, but other deals could conclude more swiftly as plenty of clubs get to grips with the twin pressures of playing in European competition and managing the transfer market.

Manchester City have quickened their pace in the past week with deals for both Ferran Torres and Nathan Ake, while Arsenal continue to be linked with a free transfer move for Willian.

Crystal Palace Emerge  Front-runners for Fraser.

Ryan Fraser has been in high demand in the Premier League since his decision to leave Bournemouth at the end of his contract earlier this summer. The Scotland international had been linked with a move to Arsenal, but the Daily Mail claims Crystal Palace now lead the race for his signature.

Liverpool Told Huge Diego Carlos Asking Price.

Liverpool would have to pay up to £68m to sign reported transfer target Diego Carlos from Sevilla this summer.

The Reds are believed to be in the market for a central defender following the departure of Dejan Lovren but the Sevilla’s player’s release clause is likely to put them off.

Spanish news outlet AS report that a fee of nearly £70m would be needed to sign the centre back, with Sevilla not interested in engaging with negotiations this summer.

Chelsea Make Significant Progress' on Chilwell deal.

Chelsea are believed to have made ‘significant progress’ as they continue to pursue a deal for Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell. That’s according to Football Insider, with sources telling the publication that progress has been made ahead of a deal likely to be worth £50m.

Arsenal legend on Aubameyang transfer talk.

Arsenal legend Charlie Nicholas has given his verdict on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future amid speculations that the striker will leave the Emirates.

Aubameyang has entered the final year of his Gunners contract, and has been linked with interest from Barcelona, Inter Milan and Manchester United. But Nicholas believes Aubemayang will stay because he doesn’t think United are a bigger club than Arsenal, and he doesn’t believe Barcelona can afford the Gabon striker. “I think we fit him perfectly,” said Nicholas.

Arsenal snub Coutinho for Willian

Arsenal have picked Willian over Philippe Coutinho and are expected to snap up the Chelsea star this summer transfer window.

Arsenal were offered the opportunity to sign Coutinho, with cash-strapped Barcelona desperate to find a buyer for the Brazilian.

But Mirror Sport understands that Arsenal have snubbed the opportunity to sign Coutinho even on loan for the season in favour of landing Willian.

Bale frozen out by Zidane

Gareth Bale’s status at Real Madrid continues to plummet after he was left out of the squad for their Champions League showdown with Manchester City. Los Blancos have announced a 24-man traveling party as the Spanish champions look to overturn a 2-1 deficit at the Etihad.

Zinedine Zidane has not included Wales star Bale, naming eight forwards in his squad, fuelling speculation the 31-year-old could be on his way out of the Bernabeu.

Borussia Dortmund Chief on Man Utd Sancho interest.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has played down reports that Manchester United are closing in on a deal to sign Jadon Sancho.

The German side value Sancho at around £100m, but it is thought United are not willing to go above £80m given the current financial climate.

But speaking to Süddeutsche Zeitung, Watzke claimed the two clubs have not yet discussed any move for the player.

“So far, there has been no contact between Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in terms of Sancho,” he said.

Barcelona President Makes Messi Vow.

Lionel Messi has been linked with a shock Barcelona exit but club President Josep Bartomeu is confident the superstar will end his career at the Nou Camp.

Inter Milan are reportedly hopeful of persuading Messi to leave Barca next summer by offering the Argentine forward a deal worth a staggering €260million (£235m) over four years.

But Bartomeu says he is in no doubt that the player he describes as the best “in the history of the game” will see out his career with the club he has represented since the age of 13.

Arsenal and Man Utd target Gabriel 'Makes Decision.'

Gabriel Magalhaes has reportedly decided he who wants to join this summer as Arsenal and Manchester United do battle for his signature.

The Lille centre-back has attracted the attention of a number of clubs, with Napoli and Everton also interested in his services.

But according to a report from Lille-based publication La Voix du Nord, via Metro, Gabriel favours a move to the Gunners after being impressed by the club’s pitch when representatives made contact with him earlier this week.

Spurs eye Benrahma.

Spurs are set to enter the race for £16million Said Benrahma with Brentford set to break up their famed BMW strike force. The Algerian playmaker, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins scored 58 goals between them to shoot the Bees to the brink of the Premier League.

Fulham, however, beat them in Tuesday night’s Play-Off Final with Watkins missing out on the Golden Boot.

West Ham are big admirers of Benrahma but need to sell before they can buy as they are among several Premier League clubs currently battling a cash crisis.

The Hammers have also prioritised strengthening their defence, meaning Spurs could steal a march in the race for Benrahma.

Leverkusen Boss on Havertz.

Bayer Leverkusen Manager, Peter Bosz says Kai Havertz will play in their Europa League last-16 second leg against Rangers on Thursday despite speculation linking him with Chelsea.

The exciting winger lit up the Bundesliga with his performances this season, scoring 12 goals and creating six assists in his blistering campaign.

He is being strongly linked with a move to the Blues this summer, and it seems to be only a matter of time until he signs on the dotted line for Frank Lampard’s side.

Chelsea in 'advanced talks' With Reguilon.

Real Madrid left-back Sergio Reguilon is reportedly in advanced talks to sign for Chelsea as their Chief Executive Marina Granovskaia looks to put the finishing touches to the move.

The Blues are known to be in the market for a left-back, and initially identified Leicester star Ben Chilwell as their No.1 target following his impressive displays for the Foxes, but they are demanding in excess of £80m for the player.

According to ESPN, however, discussions are at an advanced stage for a deal to sign Reguilon, although it is not yet clear whether this would be a loan or permanent move.

Schmeichel Tipped for Man Utd.

Kasper Scheichel

Manchester United are reportedly considering a shock move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel this summer.

The 33-year-old is the son of Red Devils legend Peter, who won five Premier League titles and a Champions League with the club during his eight seasons at Old Trafford in the 1990s.

Former Manchester City defender Mikkel Bischoff, who played with both Schmeichels during his time in the Premier League, thinks Schmeichel Jr. is good enough for the United No.1 jersey.

Speaking to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet, he said: “United will certainly not be deterred by his (Schmeichel’s) age of 33 years.

“The most successful goalkeepers at the club in recent years have been well into their thirties. He can easily play three or four good years there.

“Schmeichel is a huge United fan. He always has been and always will be, it will be the biggest dream come true if he were to succeed (in joining United).

Bournemouth Keen on Terry as New Boss.

John Terry

The Cherries have Eddie Howe’s former assistant, Jason Tindall, as the leading candidate but there is still interest in the Chelsea legend Terry who is currently Dean Smith’s no.2 at Aston Villa.

No approach has yet been made to Villa but Terry, who has been working with Smith since October 2018, helped to keep the club in the Premier League this season.

He is also known to be keen to make the step into management in his own right. Howe departed last weekend by mutual consent following Bournemouth’s relegation from the Premier League on the last day of the season.

The 42-year-old had presided over two spells as manager spanning more than 450 games and over 11 years.

With the players due back on August 17, Bournemouth have a short time frame within which to make an appointment and, as a result, are set to decide soon on Howe’s successor.

Manchester City Confirms £41million Nathan Ake signing.

Nathan Aké

Done deal at the Etihad, for the second night running. Manchester City have confirmed Nathan Ake’s arrival from relegated Bournemouth. The Dutchman has cost £41million.

Emery on Guendouzi Rescue.

Unai Emery is interested in signing one of his former players for his new club, as Villarreal are linked with a swoop for Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi.

Guendouzi has not featured for the Gunners since losing his temper in the 2-1 defeat to Brighton in June, and it appears Mikel Arteta has decided the French midfielder has no future at the club.

The 21-year-old was an important first-team player under his former boss Emery, however, who was sacked by the Gunners in November.

And according to French outlet Foot Mercato Emery is keen to end Guendouzi’s Emirates nightmare by luring him to La Liga.

Henderson Sends Message to Solskjaer

Dean Henderson

Dean Henderson has told Manchester United that he wants to replace David de Gea as No 1 or be allowed to seek pastures new.

The goalkeeper has been hugely impressive on loan at Sheffield United over the past two years.

Henderson is due to return to Old Trafford this summer where he will present Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a huge problem.

Solskjaer has hailed Henderson as a future United No 1, but the 23-year-old doesn’t appear content to wait, reports The Sun.

Manchester United Declares Interest in Telles

Alex Telles

Manchester United are reportedly considering turning their attentions to the Portuguese Primeira Liga again and are interested in signing FC Porto left-back Alex Telles.

The Red Devils are reaping the rewards of buying Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January, with the £47m signing completely transforming the team since his arrival, scoring eight goals and creating seven assists in the Premier League to help United to a third place finish.

United have also raided Portugal on a number of occasions in the past, snapping up the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani from Sporting.

And according to Portuguese publication Correio da Manha 27-year-old Telles is now in their sights as they look to find cover in the full-back positions.

Tottenham Keen on Aurier Sale

Serge Aurier

Jose Mourinho is set for a complete defensive shake-up with Serge Aurier set to leave this summer.

Tottenham are ready to offload the right back with AC Milan and Monaco both interested in the £35m-rated Aurier.

Ivory Coast international Aurier, 27, has never quite established himself as a reliable right back but was also hit by a terrible tragedy as his younger brother Christopher was shot and killed outside a nightclub last month.

Tottenham have already seen Jan Vertonghen leave on a free transfer while Kyle Walker-Peters is joining Southampton for £12m to offset the £15m arrival of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who is moving the other way.

Spurs boss Mourinho had been interested in Thomas Meunier but the Belgium right back has joined Borussia Dortmund and now they want another full back and a centre half.

There has been interest in Ryan Sessegnon who has struggled to get regular football since his £25m arrival last summer.

But Tottenham have so far insisted that, despite a lot of interest including from former club Fulham to take him on loan, he is going nowhere.

Palace Lead Chase for Watkins

Ollie Watkins

Crystal Palace are leading the chase for Brentford forward Ollie Watkins.

Watkins, 24, can leave for £18m in a buyout clause which is now active following the club missing out on promotion to the Premier League.

Palace were keen on Watkins last season and were close to a £10m deal but are likely to go back for the striker who scored 25 goals in the Championship.

Brentford fear losing key players this summer after losing the play-off final but are keen to keep their squad together and try for promotion next season.

But Brentford boss Thomas Frank is realistic enough to know that the club’s philosophy is to buy players, develop them and sell for a big profit.

Palace are preparing to spend this summer and rebuild their squad and are holding talks with former Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser.

Fraser is a free agent this summer after his deal at Bournemouth expired and had courted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

But Palace now seems the most likely destination for the Scotland international.

Grant McCann Evades the Big Stick

Grant McCann

Hull City are sticking with head coach Grant McCann despite being relegated to League One.

Hull vice-chairman Ehab Allam says they believe McCann, who was appointed last summer on a 12-month rolling contract, is the best man to win promotion back to the Championship.

Allam claims McCann should not carry the can for the Tigers’ miserable run of six points from their last 20 league games and said: “We firmly believe that Grant McCann is the man best placed to lead our fightback.

“Undoubtedly we have struggled since the turn of the year and everyone at the club shares the blame for that, myself included.

“Grant is an excellent, hungry young manager and is desperate to right the wrongs of last season and we are giving him our full backing to do that.”

Saints Seal Salisu Deal

M.Salisu

Southampton have completed a deal for Mohammed Salisu, according to Sky Sports News.

The Real Valladolid centre-back will join on a four-year deal after they triggered his £10.9million release clause.

Salisu, 21, attracted plenty of interest and the Ghanaian is now set to arrive in the UK from Spain before a mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

Leeds Linked With Chelsea Forward

Batshuayi

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is a shock target for Leeds United, with the promoted side keen to find a new centre forward ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to Football Insider.

The 26-year-old is now in the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea would consider offers of less than £25 million for Batshuayi as they attempt to raise funds for transfer moves of their own.

After loan spells at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace, Batshuayi spent the 2019/20 season at his parent club, but only made one start in the Premier League and Champions League over the course of the campaign.
